Neuropsychological DSM Diagnostic Assessment

Serves to determine the presence of organic cognitive and psychological impairment/disability, and treatment needs through clinical examination. The 1.5 day service includes a comprehensive interview, standardized measures of intellectual, cognitive and sensory-motor performance. It also includes standardized psychological psycho diagnostic measures, a survey of pre/post condition stressors and comprehensive Rehabilitation Outcome Measures (ROMS) including rehabilitation barriers, symptom rating/coping measures, and activities of daily living measurement. This allows for an appropriate baseline to be established for subsequent graphically based progress monitoring. Neuropsychological assessments also serve to determine the relationship between presenting symptoms/diagnosis and the current findings, and makes a differential diagnosis between organic, psychological, pain/somatic or mixed conditions. The service provides a full DSM-IV diagnosis and when required, determines the relationship between an accident/triggering event and presenting symptoms. For disability management purposes, this service may be combined with a Cognitive/Psychological Functional Ability Evaluation (CP-FAE).

Neuropsychological re-assessments utilize the graphical ROMS outcome measurement system for purposes of tracking patient progress in relation to their current treatment programs.
