Clinical/Rehabilitation Psychologist
 

Dr. Arunkumar Thankappan Pillai, is a registered member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario in the areas of Clinical Psychology and Rehabilitation Psychology, and provides services to adults and couples. He is a member of the Ontario Psychological Association (OPA) and the OPA Diversity Task Force. Dr. Pillai obtained his Bachelors, Masters, and Ph.D. in Psychology (specializing in Stress Management) from the University of Kerala. He also holds two M.Phil Degrees: in Medical and Social Psychology from the Ranchi University and in Futures Studies from the University of Kerala. He was trained in the pre-doctoral level Clinical Psychology at the Central Institute of Psychiatry.

Dr. Pillai has presented and published several scientific papers, as well as constructed and standardized various psychological scales, and has had the opportunity to teach post-graduate students at the University of Kerala and the Central Institute of Psychiatry. Dr. Pillai has practiced as a Clinical Psychologist (for provincial and central Government Services in India) since 1997, and also served as a Consultant for the National Narcotics Control Bureau of the Republic of Maldives. He has many years of experience in psychological assessments, therapeutics, and clinical management of multi-cultural clientele. Presently, he provides psychological assessments and treatments to clients suffering from the sequelae of motor vehicle and workplace accident related trauma. These services have been provided for various agencies, including Dr. J. Douglas Salmon and Associates, Wings Neuro Rehab Inc., WSIB, etc. Dr. Pillai provides services in Malayalam, English, Hindi, Urdu and Tamil.
